Satya Vaidyanathan

Founder - YogaSukham

Satya is the founder of YogaSukham. He is a disciplined yoga practitioner, marathoner, running coach, and a musician. A former technology executive in the Silicon Valley, Satya is a teacher at his core. A graduate of Advanced Studies Program at Downtown Yoga, Satya credits his gurus – Kate & Jim Coughlin, for being the driving force for his passion for practice, and the joy of teaching and sharing. He is passionate about introducing and teaching Yoga to beginners and sharing in their journeys and celebrating their “aha” moments. Satya is a joyful and engaging yoga practitioner and teacher. 

YogaSukham is his vision, mission, and purpose.

 

Varsha Prakash

Founder - YogaSukham

Varsha was introduced to yoga in her younger years and remembers her young dedicated teacher fondly. She continued to practice for many years while embarking on a Tech career, a move to a new country, and starting life all over.  She came back to Yoga and studied with Kate and Jim Coughlin, completing a 200-hour Advanced Studies Program from Downtown Yoga, Pleasanton CA. Varsha teaches yoga with a vision of it becoming a way of life. She hopes to share the practice of Yoga with young and old, promoting alignment of body, mind, and spirit. 

Lorey Wallace

Lorey has been studying Yoga, meditation and ancient healing techniques since the age of seven. She also studied Kundalini Yoga as a teenager and went on to become a graduate of The Yoga Room in Berkeley, California. Her training is continuous and has included classes in Pranayama, Hatha yoga philosophy, and anatomy. Along with learning the practice and teaching of Asanas, she also studied restorative, prenatal and special needs yoga. Lorey’s teaching style is relaxed and comfortable with much humor and playfulness. She is a great believer of using props and tools, doing only what the body will allow, which especially makes beginner students feel at ease.

Lorey is a trained yoga therapist with expertise in assisting with injuries and illnesses. Yoga is a journey of inner discovery, and Lorey strives to capture the true philosophy of the art.

John Bellamy

John graduated from Downtown Yoga’s 200 hour Advanced Studies Yoga Program in 2017 and is a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.  He is currently finishing up the 500 hour advanced studies training. Over the years and through the guidance of amazing teachers, he has learned to build discipline, consistency, gratitude, and patience through the Iyengar system. He is grateful for the opportunity to teach and share his practice at YogaSukham.

Carol Armstrong

Carol is a proud senior citizen yogini who has been practicing yoga on and off for over 25 years. She is an avid nature lover, hiker, and traveler and wants to be able to pursue these passions until a ripe old age. Practicing consistently with YogaSukham has helped Carol overcome a series of injuries, aches, and pains and she is convinced that practicing yoga will help her remain active! She firmly believes that “anyone can do yoga” and affirms this in her approach to teaching. She believes that it is not about “achieving a pose” – it’s about the journey of understanding what does and doesn’t work for your body and enjoying the ride – body and spirit.

Manisha Dabke

Manisha graduated from YogaSukham 200 hour Yoga Advanced Studies Program in 2021. She is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). She has been a regular yoga practitioner for the last three years. She was a former marathon runner and adopted yoga as her calming daily routine. She enjoys teaching young students and has been in the teaching profession for the past two decades. She believes in science and enjoys art. She is a lifelong learner and willing to share her experiences and knowledge with all ages of practitioners.  

 

Elaine Gill

Elaine graduated from YogaSukham 200 hour Advanced Studies Yoga Program in 2021 and is a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. Under Coach Satya’s  guidance, she ran 3 marathons and supported Asha for Education. After years of intimidation looking in windows of other Yoga studios she began her first Yoga class at YogaSukham in 2018.  Since then, she has been s regular practitioner and believes that Yoga is for Everyone. Elaine is grateful for the opportunity to teach and share her practice at YogaSukham. 

 

Suchita Patkar

Suchi, as she is called,  graduated from Yoga Sukham Advanced Studies Program in 2021 and is a 200 hours Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). She Loves to run, hike, and cook, and believes that Iyengar Yoga is keeping her connected to her other intersts.  She is grateful to her teachers who taught her discipline, consistency, and patience. She is happy and very grateful to YogaSukham for the opportunity to share her practice at YogaSukham.

 

Sonali Navathe

Sonali’s journey with yoga began in her childhood in India, nurtured by her yoga-practicing parents. Having moved to the US, she tried a several yoga studios over the years, but it is only after joining Yogasukham that she could develop a steady, consistent and strong  practice. She credits it to the inspiring teachers, excellent class structure and priceless Yogasukham community. In 2023, she graduated from  the Yogasukham Advanced Studies Program.
She works in Product Management, loves to go on invigorating bike rides, get lost in a good book, or just immerse herself in some captivating Asian drama.
Sonali is truly grateful for the opportunity to teach at Yogasukham and hopes to inspire her students, just as she has been inspired, fostering a space of growth, mindfulness, and connection.

Pavithra Praveen

Pavithra is a 200-hour, Advanced Yoga Studies Program graduate from YogaSukham, with over 7 years of dedicated yoga practice. What began as a journey toward a specific goal quickly turned into a lifelong passion, and yoga has since become an integral part of her everyday life. Pavithra is excited to share the positive changes yoga has brought into her life. She is committed to helping others experience the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of this practice.

In addition to yoga, Pavithra enjoys drawing, cooking, and taking long walks. She loves spending time in nature and finding joy in simple activities, including shopping.  Whether on or off the mat, Pavithra is dedicated to living fully and helping others do the same.
