From Our Mat…

Eight years ago, this studio began with a simple vision: to create a space where people could come exactly as they are, connect with themselves, and find support, strength, and a community. What has grown since then is so much more than a yoga studio — it is a community built on shared practice, friendship, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.
To every practitioner who has rolled out a mat, taken a breath, shared a smile, faced a challenge, celebrated a victory, or simply shown up: THANK YOU 🙏🏽; Your presence has made this space special. While some may view this as a small business / boutique studio, our primary goal has been to bring smiles to people’s faces, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity.
Along the way, we learnt so much: from figuring out how to find and rent a commercial space with zero business background or experience, to setting up the place from scratch—transforming a storefront into a warm and welcoming practice space—and, to top it all, taking the plunge to launch a yoga studio with less than 50 hours of collective teaching experience. The list goes on. We have learnt to expect the unexpected and continue to learn every day to accept and embrace it.
In less than two years of coming into being, we experienced the COVID shelter-in-place. What seemed like a doomsday scenario for an infant organization actually turned into the most rewarding opportunity: bringing the community together in a virtual space to tackle the forced social distancing the human race had ever  endured. No one felt alone while everyone was separated! Many who started or transitioned to the virtual studio continue to date in the virtual studio – we are grateful for your commitment to your practice!

As we celebrate this milestone, we do so with utmost gratitude for each and every one of you. Thank you for trusting us with your practice and for being part of this journey and community. We are honored to continue growing together.

Here’s to eight amazing years—and to many more breaths, movements, friendships, and moments of connection ahead.

With gratitude,
Varsha & Satya

Opening day

First day first class practitioners!

Pose Spotlight: TrikonAsana (Triangle)

TrikonasanaA strong dynamic pose literally forming triangles with long lines of the legs, arms, torso, and spine. This pose promotes strength in the legs, core and promotes balance.

It is a full body engagement that can be performed with various props to keep the body aligned, while still maintainign extension, stability, and strength. It is a foundational pose that is a must for everyone.

If you only had time to practice for a short time, this is one of the poses that should be included (there are a few more 🙂 which we will talk about as we come upon them!)

So how many triangles do you see in your pose? Remember there are no curved lines in a triangle 😀

Would you commit to being in trikonasana each day?

Teacher Spotlight

Manisha has been part of the YogaSukham community since its opening in 2018. She is a teacher by profession, choice, and passion. Extending her teaching skill to Yoga practice seemed like a natural progression. In her own words:

“Over the years, my experience within the YogaSukham studio has been shaped by a deep commitment to the safe, comprehensive, and nurturing practices given by Satya and Varsha.
Coming to yoga practice regularly gives me an opportunity to stay focused, productive, and happy. These positive results of yoga practice keep bringing me back to the studio for the past eight years!
I finished my Advanced Studies Program in 2021, which gave me a deeper awareness of Yoga-abhyasa (yoga studies). Over the years, I have learnt the importance of alignment, breath awareness, and mindfulness. I believe Yoga-abhayasa is a lifelong journey of learning.
I started sharing and teaching my yoga practices at YS in 2022 and have enjoyed every minute of it. Every class I teach is my own learning experience, too! I am so grateful to YogaSukham and all the practitioners for giving me the opportunity to serve the community and help build mindfulness. I believe every class at YogaSukham is a collective journey where energy is shared, community is built, and individuals are empowered to honor their bodies exactly as they are.”

Fun Facts about Manisha!

Eight years in, YogaSukham is still where I return to reconnect — not just with the practice, but with a calmer, steadier version of myself.

For me, yoga is more than just a practice – it’s a way to nurture my body, calm my mind, and revitalize my entire being.

it’s a way to cultivate overall well-being, soothing my mind, energizing my body, and uplifting my entire being.
